Welcome to the website of BACK 9!

BACK 9 is a true vareity band. Our music covers everything from Motown, Beach, pop, Funk, Southern Rock and Country. It is this vareity of music that makes BACK 9 so popular. We can entertain a large diverse crowd because we play so many different styles of music. BACK 9 consists of 7 core players: 2 guitars, bass, keyboard, drums, saxophone, and lead singer. Sometimes we add a conga player to make 8 players. We want people to see us and feel relaxed. When people see us relaxed and having a good time, they typically will follow with their own fun! We travel approx. 4 to 5 hours in any direction from our home base of Spartanburg, SC. If you are looking for a great band to party with, please contact us. BACK 9 News and Events

April, 2009 -

It is with great pleasure that BACK 9 announces what we hope will be a long lasting relationship with Al Paris, former member of Kool and the Gang. BACK 9 met Al in Sept. of 2008 while playing for the Arizona Open Celebrity Golf Tournament. By the way, the Arizona Open is scheduled for Oct. 25, 2009....do not miss this event! BACK 9 was the backing band for several great artist including Al. After many months of discussions, BACK 9 and Al Paris have decided to begin doing some shows together. As you will see in the calendar section, we are doing our first full show with Al on April 25, 2009. This show is the 15th annual Hangar Party in Greenville, SC. We could not think of a better place to d'ebut BACK 9 featuring former Kool and the Gang member Al Paris. Al spent 10 plus years with Kool and the Gang traveling all over the world. He has also been involved with producing several albums for Kool and the Gang as well as being involved with the production of solo albums by members of Kool and the Gang. His accomplishments are too long to list here but lets just say that after an evening with Al Paris, you know you have been hit with something special.
